  • Browsing data outside the app

We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each service has its own privacy policy:

5.1 Hosting & Infrastructure

We use dedicated servers to host and store app data securely. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

5.2 Notification Services

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) by Google to send push notifications. This service only receives the device identifier to deliver notifications.

5.3 Video Content

The app uses an integrated video player for course content. Some videos may be hosted on YouTube. When watching YouTube-hosted content, YouTube's privacy policy applies to that interaction. Details in Section 10.

5.4 Email Service

We use email services to send account-related communications such as password resets and course purchase confirmations.

6. Data Protection

We take strict security measures to protect your data:

  • All communications encrypted using SSL/TLS protocol
  • Passwords stored using strong hashing algorithms (bcrypt)
  • Session management with secure token storage
  • Protection against repeated login attempts (Rate Limiting)
  • CSRF protection on all forms and API endpoints
  • Secure window flag enabled to prevent screenshots of sensitive content

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data according to the following periods:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data is deleted within 30 days.
  • Course Data: Progress, exam results, and certificates are retained while the account is active and deleted when the account is deleted.
  • Purchase Records: Transaction records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes as required by law.
  • Aggregated Anonymous Data: We may retain aggregated statistics that do not identify you indefinitely to improve the service.

8. International Data Transfer

Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We take the following measures to protect your data during transfer:

  • Data encrypted at rest on servers
  • Contracts with service providers committed to data protection standards
  • Same level of protection regardless of storage location

10. Video Content & YouTube

The app includes video lessons as part of the educational experience. When using this service:

  • Video lessons are streamed through an integrated player within the app
  • Some content may be hosted on YouTube, in which case YouTube's Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy apply
  • We track your video viewing progress to update course completion status
  • Video viewing data is associated with your account for progress tracking purposes
  • We do not share your viewing habits with third-party advertisers

11. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us via email
  • Correction: You can modify your personal information from the profile page in the app
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data (details in Section 12)
  • Objection: You can object to the use of your data for specific purposes by contacting us
  • Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Processing Restriction: You can request to restrict the processing of your data under certain circumstances
  • Consent Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent to data processing at any time by deleting your account

12. Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time by following these steps:

Deletion from within the app:

  • 1. Open the app and go to Settings
  • 2. Tap on Account
  • 3. Tap on Delete Account
  • 4. Confirm the deletion

Alternative method via email:

You can also request account deletion by sending an email to support@sofian-malki.com with the email address registered to your account.

What happens when you delete your account:

  • All personal data (name, email, phone number) is deleted within 30 days
  • All course progress, exam results, and certificates are deleted
  • All favorites and bookmarks are deleted
  • Purchase history is anonymized but retained for legal compliance
  • Deleted data cannot be recovered after the process is completed

We may retain some aggregated and anonymous data that does not identify you for service improvement purposes.

13. Children & Minors

The Sofian Malki app is designed for students of all levels.

  • If the user is under 16 years old, we recommend that registration be done with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian
  • We do not intentionally collect personal data from children under 13 years of age
  • If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete this data immediately
  • If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@sofian-malki.com and we will delete the data

This section complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable laws for the protection of minors.

14. Tracking & Advertising

  • Sofian Malki does not display ads of any kind within the app
  • We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) and do not request tracking permission
  • We do not participate in cross-app tracking and do not share your data with advertising networks
  • We do not sell your personal data to any third party

15. Cookies & Local Storage

Our website uses cookies to improve the browsing experience. You can control cookie settings from your browser.

The app itself uses local device storage to save:

  • User preferences and app settings (dark mode, language)
  • Authentication tokens (to maintain login)
  • Cached course data for faster loading
